I currently have about 4 acres of grass. I usually use my 5' finishing mower behind my 8n in 2nd gear. Tonight I was in a hurry. I put it in 3rd and let it rip. The tractor seemed to handle it ok. I got alot more done. What I was wondering is this to much stress on the 8n? Opinions?

Thanks

Ron

I mow with a 6' finish mower in 3rd all the time, but only if the grass is not too high.

If the grass/weeds aint too thick and tall, and the field aint too rough, 3rd will be alright. I mow in 3rd lots of times.
