Ed, a few days ago, you were helping me to I.D. an old sickle-bar mower. Found some info, got it now. It's an OLIVER Model 355. Dang, I was tickled to find that! Found one pic over at the Wengers/Meyerstown site, matches mine. No wonder we couldn't figure it out!

Next question for you: what info do you have on an Oliver mower? I finally got the lift set-up figured out, and she workin' good, but I'd love to get some info on it. Were all Oliver implements painted the same green as their tractors? As always, many thanks to you. I'll still send some pics to you soon.

Hi Paul. Sorry, I only collect info about Dearborn/Ford or made-for-Ford implements (Sherman, Wood Bros., Towner, Danuser, etc.). I don't have any literature on Oliver equipment.

BTW, I think I know of a 5 or 6-bottom Oliver plow that may be available to anyone who wants to pick it up. It's not a lift-type plow, and it's HUGE. It was at a farm auction that I was at last month and disappeared after the auction. However, it was back at the auction place the next week, and is sitting there now all by itself in a field.

Sorry that I couldn't help with more info on your mower, Paul.

Regards..... ..... ..... Ed

Ed, no problem. Your help was most welcome. At least you helped me find out what it WASN'T. With a positive I.D., I can run down the rest. Ran the thing some more last night, it sure runs sweet.

Did I mention that the fella I got this from found another old mower buried in the mud out back of his place? From the downloads you sent me before, we could see it was a Freguson. He's going to start pulling that out now....I may be back to you again!
