It runs good, But I would like to change the gear lub. for the trans & hyd lift, My question is ware is the drains, How much dose it hold for a refill, And how do you check the current level of the gear oil??? Al,

Drain ALL three drain plugs, starting with the SMALLEST. This allows you to start with a slow drain, otherwise 5 gallons comes rushing out the large hole VERY FAST.

If you start with the biggest one the oil tends to gush out all over your arms, bucket, creeper, garage floor, tools, etc. Don't ask how I know...

It has a 1939 9N engine if there is another star behind the last number, the whole tractor is a 1939 9N if the starter button is on the left side of the dash. There are 2 large drain plugs under the tractor housing that takes an 1 1/16" wrench, you will need to get new gaskets for these when getting new oil, and 1 small square headed pipe thread plug under the rear end, it holds between 4 1/2 and 5 gallons depending how much sludge buildup is in the bottom, fill at the large plug beside the gear lever, this takes a gasket also, check the oil level either at the square headed pipe thread plug on the right side of the transmission or it may still have the dipstick beside the gear lever.
