Rick..... ....this is a classic and happens all the time to newbies. ITS YOUR FRONTMOUNT IGNITION COIL. Takes about 45-60 mins to heat up a bad frontmount ignition coil and then the insulative tar melts and shorts out some turns and suddenly, BAD SPARKIES. and even more amaizing, it "cures" itself overnight. (tar hardens) and starts in the morning.

One of the principle causes of overheated frontmount ignition coils is the "infamious ballast resistor" mounted on the backside of the dashpanel. Many well intentioned but miss-guided shade tree mechanics by-pass the ballast resistor to get hotter sparkies for eazier starting.....well yes, that it does, and the same trick melts the insulative tar and then it won't start or run a'toll. Check it out and make certain you really are using your ballast resistor.

PUT YOUR THERMOSTAT back in. The N-Tractor is designed with a way overcooled radiator system. It won't warm up and burn off the combustion by-products and makes nasty black muck in bottom of oilpan and the muck is acid an eats bearings..... ..Dell
