Where is Shaw Island? Can't find it on my map. If it on the west coast would you please come & take your weather back? I want to put new boards on the bed of my F250 & would rather stay dry doing it. Have fuN & play safe.

Shaw Island is a litle Island near San Juan Islands near Canada in washington State on the wet side!!! South of Orcas Island. It is a real yuppie area mega buck land prices and lots of boats too, Mark H.

Ok Mark, don't put me in the yuppy slot. It's a fact that every weekend the Mercedes count around here skyrockets, but I don't own one. Shaw is the little island over run with nuns you have to stop at to get to Orcas. There is an assumption that all 150 of us that live on this 5,000 acre rock are all religous wackos, but it's not true. We aren't all religous!

My folks bought a cabin up here in the early 70's when prices were reasonable. I bought raw land (no water view) in the early nineties when I moved up here to start a contracting business. 11 years and a couple of kids later my house is still covered with Tyvek-we jokingly refer to ouselves as the Duponts of Shaw!

As far as the weather goes its been a strange week. At least the rain will knock down the dust for a few days. I sunburned the top of my head something fierce on Tuesday.

I don't get to the east side much anymore but love it when I do. I went to College in E-Burg, in I fact tried to buy a house over there but didn't have the scratch to pull it off at the time. Spokane and Reardon are both nice spots. If you guys want to come rub shoulders with the rich and famous while hanging out with Ma and Pa Kettle look me up.

Cheers,
Ken

Been there!! I won a weekend stay at that fancy resort out on San Jaun or Orcus. Was kinda fun rubbing elbows with the elite.

Rosario on Orcas? The attitude is pretty thick over there, even the maids think they are something. Shaw has no restaurants, gas stations or hotels. It's kinda nice not getting many tourists.

I did electrical work on Eddie Baures place (they used it for there Catalog spread) along with Wrights big spread. Nice place but it did get taken over during the last few years. There is a neat Island out there with just a house on it I would have liked to own. Land prices have gone thru the roof!! Mark H.

The guy who owns Oakley (sunglasses) is snatching up the little islands as they come on the market. We do have our share of big buck property owners but 9 months out of the year its mostly Carharts and pickup trucks.

Are you an electrician?

I used to be a Electrical Contractor for 13 years then retired from work at around 42 due to knowing if I kept it up I would be wasted by the time the goverment said I was supposed too! Mark H.

Opps. I meant Reardon and the Okanogan. Not to detract from Spokane Levi.
