After checking compression (low) and viewing responses and arcives in this discussion forum, I have decided to do a thorugh overhall on my 49 8N. I almost have engine ready to come off. I am looking forward to the project. I may need additional advice and technical assistance before it is over. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

There is nothing as satisfying as tearing down an engine and slaving over it,dumping $ , asking questions, getting frustrated and then when the time finally comes..... .. the sound of it running and you know you did it yourself.
You have made the right decision.
Ask for any help.

Great. I'm glad there are always newcomers who, like myself, will decide to dump more into an old tractor then they will ever be able to sell it for. Salute !
