Pat..... ....I'm certain what you wrote makes sense to you, but I'm still a little befuddled.

Lets see if I can walk you thru this. 1) ORC comes in 2 PTO sizes org Ford 1-1/8 and modern ASAE 1-3/8 6-spline specs. 2) there is a 5/16 hole in PTO shaft that the spring rolepin should tightly fit. Try it without the ORC in the way. 3) the ORC should have 2 parts, inner femail that fits the tractor PTO and outter male that fitts the brushog. 4) the outer and inner must have 2 series of thru holes (remove greese zerks) that must line up so the springloaded rollpin will reach thru and go into your previous step #2 5) the rollpin must be centered so that the outter ORC will spin around the inner ORC step#3

There is a remote chance that the 5/16 rollpin is too long. check it against the inner ORC diameter step#3. But I think the length should be 1 1/2".

Don't know anything about an "internal nut". that makes no sense. Sorry, I flunked mindreading, just ask my ex-wife of 32 yrs..... ....Dell

yea thanks dell, I have the right orc,,, I installed it with the holes all lined up,, it goes in the first one ok, then when it comes to the point of going through the pto shaft,, which would make it one unit right,,, well the orc seems to pull tight into the back of the tractor where the pto shaft comes out,,, looking at my parts manual the nut I was referring to seems to be a bearing retainer nut ?? pg85--fig FO127 #3,, ,it almost seems like when the pin is installed through the orc and into the shaft it tightens the 2 units up as one,, and it wont move at all,,, hope this helps,, thanks again for the help,,, and yes the pto was disengaged ,,but I dont see where that would make a difference with the install,,thanks pat

Pat..... ..... from your description, sounds like you have a PTO output bearing issue and needs to be dissembled for inspectioon. Park your tractor nose down in deep ditch and you won't have to drain any hydraulic fluid..... ...Dell

I think what he's trying to say is that when the ORC is on the PTO shaft and the holes line up and the rollpin is in place, then the ORC binds on the PTO housing so he can't rotate the PTO by hand.

Is the PTO out of gear? Sometimes it's the real simple things that make you pull out your hair.
