NO Oil Pressure... When I put the tractor away for the winter all was fine. The tractor started right up in the spring, however there wasn't any oil pressure. I checked the gauge, oil screen and even changed the oil. Has anyone had this problem before?

In addition to wear, the other possible reason your pump lost it's prime is the use of multi-grade(wt) oil. I have read on this board more than once that that is a prime suspect in pump priming problems (say that three times, fast). I use 40 wt and would use 30 wt in winter if I drove it much.

Hope this helps.

I have had this happen on a couple of tractors after setting for a long time. I made up a device from a piece of larg dia pipe capped with an air fitting. I pour oil into the pipe, cap it, and put low pressure air to push the oil thru a convenient oil fitting back into the oil pump. It works every time for me. The problem is worn oil pump vanes.

Did you disconnect the gauge and line and crank it to check if there is pressure in the engine? It is a messy way to see if your gauge is the problem.

I'll agree with Mike. Try repriming the line maybe some air got in there. I had that happen one time when it was real cold out.(-20F) I warmed it up with a heater then started it and the the pressure came up. I think it was condensation that had frozen in the line.

You might try priming the oil pump. On the front of the motor there is a large bolt head that houses the pressure relief valve (a spring). Remove the bolt (15/16ths I think) and squirt some oil (about 10-15 pumps) in the hole. Replace the relief valve and turn it over to see if you have pressure.

If this does not work I would look at the gauge or the pickup tube...
