I learned that a neighbor has passed away and his widow is looking to sell his equipment. Among them is a 9N (41 I think)with a side mounted 5' sickle mower. Not sure if a Fergerson or Dearborn mower. Straight tin, good rubber, still six volts, starts on two spins, runs like sewing machine, overhauled & repainted (grey) about 11 years ago. I'm not looking to steal this outfit, but don't want to pay too much. I have a steeply banked pond and about 1200 feet of roadside drainage ditch which are impossible to mow and I think this outfit will fit my needs. Help me to offer the right price!

In southeast Montana that is a $2500.00 rig if the sickle mower is all there and mows. Saw a similar one go for that within the last month.

Your mileage may vary

Arthur, I just sold a 9n with a hupp over/under in it. New paint fair rubber and it runs real good for $1850. It was sold complete with 3 point hitch and top link no emplements. I don't care for belly mount sickle mowers and I wouldn't give $25 for the mower complete, But if the tractor is all you say it is and the mower will do what you want. It should be worth some where around $1800. It's just depends on buyer/seller agreement. Goodluck John

For the tractor as you describe it I would be happy at $1700 but would expect to see $1900 or $2000 as the average price in my area. The mower I'd be happy at $200 but would think $300 was average. Your call, but I'd offer $1700 for the package and have some room to negotiate.
