Can anyone tell me how many washers are used on the main needle, which washers they are(black fibre,red fibre or metal)and where in relation to the spring they are positioned? I am almost done with my first rebuild and it seems like I have an extra washer.

Art..... ...can't really guess at what color coded gaskets is which, what did you have originally and where?

My Ford Master Parts Catalog lists and shows: p/n 356211-S8 1/4" ID X .37 OD X .025 thick flat washer (under the mainjet spring); p/n 8N9563 gasket, carb high speed needle ( under mainjet washer next to carb body); p/n 9N9608 gasket, carb main nozzle (takes special deep socket tool to remove main nozzle down inside carb throat)..... ....Dell
