I parked my 9N two weeks ago and it ran fine and I went out to use it today it lost power and if I engage the PTO and then put it in gear it dies. I have readjusted the carb. and cleaned out the bulb. Does anyone have any other suggestions before I tear it completely a part???

Paul , Dont tear it apart yet, If it was running great 2 weeks ago I would say its something simple , Mice built a nest in the intake carb tube of my old N , wouldnt run worth a darn untill I found the problem .

Befor you tear it all apart be sure to have lots of cans and baggies to ID the parts with when you remove them. It is hard to put them all back together again if you don't. But then you might do some trouble shooting on the fuel system along with the electrical system it is alot easier to do and you might find out what is wrong with it. Grin! Mark H.

Paul..... ....first rule, NEVER dissassemble an engine without first doing a COMPRESSION test. Ford specs: 90 psi min.

There is a whole lotta other things to check out before you go grabbing a wrench. Things like jambed tranny gears, empty fuel tank, ignition system. One of the founding N-Board members used to claim 80% of all N-Carb problems were found and solved in the ignition system.

You don't give much "clues" beside loosing power as why you think your engine needs to be rebuilt. Of course, its your tractor and you can do what you want to. I flunked mind reading, just ask my ex-wife of 32 years..... ..... respectfully, Dell
