After running my 8N for around 15 minutes, the oil pressure slowly drops off to almost nothing. Starts out with 40+ lbs. of pressure showing on the guage. I took the line off behind the guage and had plenty oil shoot out when I started up. What am I missing?

The pump drive gear and shaft probably wobbled alot and when it was apart they rebuilt it instead of replacing the pump housing, the gears wear into the housing and that area is not rebuildable.

Could be your oil pickup screen is sucking up gunk as it runs and slowly blocking oil passage. 40 lbs is a lot and most run just fine on 10-20. If yours is going down to that level, I wouldn't worry unless pulling the pan and cleaning it and oil pickup makes you feel more at ease.

Most likely crank and main bearings are worn, passing oil as it heats-up and thins. Try a heavier oil 15-50 or an additive. Also, check your pressure relief valve. Otherwise, time for a rebuild.
