My neighbor will sell me his 3 point sickle
mower for 75.00.Its a model 14-93 according
to the tag on it-its a Ford brand. The universal
joint on the back end is worn out bad.Where
can i get a u-joint that will fit reasonably
priced.I believe it is a 6 spline shaft, made to fit a 8n or naa tractor which i both
have.Thanks for your help guys.Alan

I don't know where you are, but my local FNH dealer has never failed to come up with the driveline parts I have needed for implements. Splined hubs, u-joints, yokes, square tube, you name it. Give them a try. Helps if you take the old part with you in case they need to take some measurements.

In CA in the SF "East Bay area" there is a company called Drive Line (Many franchises) that repair and custom make just about any shaft and joint arrangement - car, truck, tractor, PTO shafts and all types of U-joints, CV joints etc. I had them make up custom drive shafts for my 4x4.

Might be someone in your area that does the same thing. Happy N ing.

That is a fair price I just paid $200 for the same mosel last weekend. The one I bought didn't need anything and works great but for $75. and a U joint I would say you got a bargin.

I tried Ford New Holland for u joints for two different Dearborn sickle mowers and didn't find either. The one you talk about sounds like a later model and they may still support it.

I got a u joint for a Dearborn 14-16 at a local auto parts house. U joints are fairly generic and if you can get the counter person to spend the time they can most likely find it. Take the whole joint in--cross and cups--and be charming. Worked for me at Carquest but bet it wouldn't work at one of the discount places. Good luck

Your mileage may vary
