On the right fender of my 8N, there are these two little clips-or brackets. They look like they are there to hold something long and skinny- Are these for stowing the engine hand crank? I am parting out my tractor, and want to make sure I advertise these things for what they really are! (I know that the thing on the left fender is a grease gun holder)

PS. To Those Of You Who're Legitimately Trying To Answer My Question:

The brackets look like they were original equipment, and came with the tractor.

Dave: Whoa! My question was legitimate- if I were seeking to "advertise" my stuff, I wouldn't have waited until now, when half my parts are already sold. I posted the grease gun link in case anyone else wanted to see what it looks like.....as I didn't want to have to put up a seperate picture for it!

If I did anything inappropriate here, I'm sure I'll be admonished by Kim. I enjoy this forum very much, and would never intentionally do anything to "spam" it, or break the rules.

Did you just say "I posted the grease gun link in case anyone else wanted to see what it looks like.....as I didn't want to have to put up a seperate picture for it!"

"a seperate picture "

third party image

Now what ya know about that! I posted your pic without all that "E-bay" stuff added on !

And you said: "If I did anything inappropriate here, I'm sure I'll be admonished by Kim. "

Do you really want to put Kim in that un-comfortable situation where she "Has" to say something to ya???

I'm sure your post wasn't an ad (Wink, wink) and I look forward to more post from you and your group in the future.

Have a great day

How'd ya' do that??? (Sorry...we're all not computer geeks!)

No....I wouldn't want to put kim in that position....and I dont think I did!

You can see that the grease-gun bracket is already doing well, why would I feel the need to further advertise it here?

....I mean, come on! If I were going to do that, I'd put up something that hasn't received any bids!

Maybe you dont know me well enough to know my character....but you should at least know that I'm not stupid. (except when it comes to posting pictures!)

"Maybe you dont know me well enough to know my character"

Your right, I don't and I'm sure your a fine gentelmen, "BUT", I need you to go back and read your post, then click on the hyper link that you put up , and then I need you to stand back and really take a look at it from the "Outside" like we are, hopefully now you'll see that it does indeed kind'a look like an ad !

As far as a computer geek, ya right, I wish because then I would'nt be driveing a payloader for a liveing ! LOL You can post just about any pic you find on the web by right clicking on it, then high light the address, copy it and paste it in the "Optional Image URL box at the bottom, Try it with anything and see if it works.

Upon graduation from high school years ago, 8 of us headed to Ocean City, Maryland for some partying. One of the most interesting experiences of my life. I remember one morning, in the apartment we rented, I was sitting in the kitchen. A buddy came into the kitchen, hung over, opened a box of Cocoa Crispies. Poured some into a bowl. Looked in the fridge for milk....found none. Opened a beer, poured it onto the cereal and munched out. After eating all the cereal, he drank the chocolate flavored beer that was left. Yummy!!!

Favorite album at the time was "Toys in the Attic" by Aerosmith.

That tells my age. Still a youngster.

Mr. Magoo,

This is my opinion and I believe I'm allow to express myself. You are asking for help here so that you can properly describe items that you are selling on Ebay? Then you post links to items you are selling on Ebay? Doesn't Kim state this?;

No Advertising of any kind is allowed here. This includes For-Sale and Wanted-To-Buy items. Use the classified ads page for these.

I find it difficult to help you sell your items on Ebay.

Respectfully,
JMHO

Dear "Anonymous poster"

Please see my reply to Dave (above)- If I were seeking to covertly "sell" anything here, I wouldn't be so obvious about it! If I would've known that everyone was going to get their bowels in an uproar just because I used a picture that just happens to be on Ebay, I wouldn't've done it!

Great Mr. MaGoo pic! ("Confound it!")

Hi Richie-
Your link is for your grease gun bracket on ebay, but I've seen what you describe as two other "clips" or "brackets" and they held the stay bars and drawbar...probably the flat-bar top link, too, not sure, though. Makes sense if'N you were plowing with the top link and maybe discing with the drawbar and stays, you would store the ones not in use. I don't think these were original-I've never seen them in a Ford catalog. Perhaps Ed Gooding has an accessory catalog with them in it. Then again they may be something like for the mower you described...

Nope...too small for stay-bars, etc. I guess these are not a very item.

Will have to get a picture of them, I guess.

they might be clips for holding a transport rod that holds a dearborn rear attached cicle bar mower in the upright position.ED Gooding posted pictures awhile back about a dearborn 14-16 mower that shows them .

Thanks, Matt....but they're too small, and light duty for that. Guess it's hard to tell w/o a picture (and I seem to get my head chewed off around here for posting pictures!)

I guess it's not what I thought it was though....as if it werte, it'd be a lot more common, and everybody would be saying "Yeah...that's exactly what it's for")

Richie, the clips just held the rod when you were mowing .The transport rod was on the mower to and from the field, and clipped to the right fender when you were mowing to keep it out of the way.It didnt need very big clips.

Richie,
Don't worry about Dave, he doesn't have anything better to do than look for stuff for personal attacks, He attacted Mark last week and didn't leave his name but I tracted the IP address and found that they were his posts. I am tracking the IP address's of the ones that are posting anonymous, antagonistic comments and will be letting everyone know who they are.

Good work, Levi!

I would defend anybodys' right to say whatever they want...but when I see somebody posting anonymously, I think that they must be a real coward- I mean, geez....it's the inty-net, even when you post a name and email address, your still pretty much anonymous- but when someone wants even more anonymity than that.....man!

What're they afraid some'll send them a nasty email? (Oh...heavens...not that!)
