That is what I thought you meant in your last post.
The "Touch Control" is very touchy on mine which I beleive is normal.
But the more you move the lever the faster the reaction should be.
Finding the "neuteral" position is tricky.
It changes with the weight of the load on the arms.

After reading a post by "SteveB" I beleive I have also had a problem without knowing it.
As you see I have asked "Zane" for info myself.
Sorry about the wrong answer I gave you.

If in fact you have the mode lever under the seat in the up position. (position) and the lift goes all the way up with one inch of movement then I would say that the position mechanism inside the lift housing is out of whack. Maybe the cam follower pin has been worn completely through and the position mode is actually not working at all and the draft mode is instead working because of the cam follower pin being inoperative.

See the link below for more information on some things that may help you.

Just found an artical by "SteveB" further down the list. So I must have a problem. Any ideas?
I was told that the "Draft Control" did not work on my 8N when I bought it, but I never used it anyway if that info is of any help.

Zane, please explain why it would not be normal for the lift to go all the way up "slowly" when moving the touch control one inch.
Mine has always done so. The same with going down, slight movement slows the drop.
Also finding the "neutral" position is very touchy.
May be I have a problem and never knew it.
You build the parts and know the units better than anybody else so your input would be appreciated.

There is an index mark on the mounting plate of the touch control quadrant, where the 4 bolts hold it to the top cover. See if it's in the middle. If it is, then you might have something inside to adjust. It could be that your control is bent or the draft control/position control linkages are not adjusted right.
