Got clean gas in the n and went to bush hoggin. After a couple trips around the property the seat started getting real uncomfortable. Just a regular old tractor seat but not like the one on the other n. This one is sort of dented up in the middle. Like someone really heavy sat on it for 40 years and it formed to thier rear. If it was made that way there was or is one tough farmer out there. Feels like your still sitting on it 2 hours after you park the tractor. Anyone that can help with a good used comfortable seat give me an e-mail.

If you are not interested in originality I would get a new seat. I bought a new universal seat from Agri-Supply for $69. It has a padded bottom and back with integral arm rests. It is also equipped with a weight adjustment knob and shock absorber. It bolted right on with no mods. It made an incredible difference in comfort. It is the best thing I have purchased for my tractor so far.

I purchased a red and white seat cover ( plastic ? ) at a tractor show last month ( 20 bucks) I like it a lot better than the old canvas one that was on its last leggs , It looks good and the color goes well with the 8N gray and red , more padding is easyer on the butt and will feel a lot better this winter ( cold metal seats just dont get it )

Rusty look for a Delux Ferguson TO-30 or Massey 35 seat they have a back and are padded on the back and seat. They will bolt right to your top plate bolts. Mark H.

Hey Rusty-
Palmer Fossum sells padded seat covers with the FORD logo. You can find his phone number searching these archives. He doesn't have a web site or email address. I got one this year and what a rear-end saver! HTH...tim

Welcome to the real world of farming with OLD equipment. We farm 250 acres, and our newest tractor is a A/C WD.
I have a cover on my 8N seat and it helps alot. Now you know why so many farms have new tractors with air ride seats. Enjoy it, Ron
