If the sure seal is the quick fix fo the axle seal that gave up after 50 years What is the quick fix for the sure seal that wore a groove on the axle shaft?? A few years back I read something Zane had wrote about a silicone fix, I think it was. haven't been able to find it yet.Any thoughts would be good.

The sure seal wore a groove in the axle? Wow. That is just a normal neoprene seal. A couple of suggestions: First is duct tape in a tube: JB Weld. About 5 years ago I put in sure seals, and one axle was pitted so I filled the pits with JB Weld. Still hasn't leaked.

Second is mike the OD of the axle and go to the local bearing house. They now make sleeves you can slip over shafts to provide a smooth surface for a seal. Talk with the counter guy. They are pretty sharp and can probably come up with something. The groove situation happens on motors and pumps a lot.

Thank you Jerry I'll have to try the JB weld. Wont be getting to town for a couple months now so the sleeve is out of the question for now.
