i have a 2N and it always started good with a full choke. ussually it had to warm up about a minute before you could drive away but once it was warm it ran perfect! Here is a little history now for the problem-- went to start it and the blasted thing won't start! It won't even fire! I got it to make one pop and that was it. I have Fuel and the switch is good. 3 pt is down. Does it soudn like a problem in the coil? Let me know all you smart N guys. I would apprciate it. Also i am new to the Ford collecting i am just a young kid! Where do i order parts for the coil or just parts in general. Thanks you all are great people here!

I think the others are overlooking the first thing I would check. The Plugs. Sounds to me like your plugs may be fouled or at least a couple of them. Before I rebuilt my 9n the plugs would foul from oil build up. Do yourself a favor and before you buy a new coil and points put some new plugs in it.

Try spraying starter fluid into the carb. intake if it fires this will tell you that you should look for a fuel starvation problem ( plugged filters, bad gas, water in system) If it wont fire go for ignition system, bad coil, points, condenser , Remove one spark plug lay it on the block you should see a bright blue spark at the tip, and here a snap, ( leave plug wire attatched ) My number one guess is a bad coil, second guess you need points and cond. hard to say without being there.

Well it could be a couple of things. Take a look at your points and see if you are getting fire to them first, the gap may have closed up from the rub block wearing off. You say you have fuel but does it have fuel in the carb bowl. Take the plug out of the bottom and see if you have a good steady full flow of fuel. If not check all three screens. One in the elbow on side of carb, one in the top of the fuel sediment bowl, and one in the tank attached to the fuel shut off. Hope this helps but if it doesn't, get back with moore info.
