I have been trying to get this control valve operational for over 2 years. I have a Wagner loader on my 8N. At first the seals were leaking. I just installed it after the last repair and the seals appeared to be fine. We milled out the seal seats and installed new seals.

However, the assembly leaked fluid from the upper left bolt hole and around the joint. I tried tightening the bolt which was a bit loose only to discover the reason it was loose was that the casting had cracked around the bolt.

I need to resolve this problem since the tractor has had lots of down time.

Is it possible and feasable to have it welded- rebored and tapped? Could something like JB Weld or MarineTex be used to repair it?

Does anyone know a source for a replacement assembly? New? Used? Junk to rebuild this one?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In addition to tOTG (with whom I, also have done business with much satisfaction) you might try Ankeny Tractor in Ankeny IA. They seem to be knowledgeable about Wagner loaders.

You could also contact John Bower (tOTG) in Littleton, CO, via his website by clicking here. He may have, or be able to find you a used one. I've done business with John on several occasions, and he's very knowledgeable and is very fair with his customers.

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

Jack has the right idea. Yours could be repaired but it is cost prohibitive to do so. Most hyd control spools use a super close fit between the bore of the valvebody and spool to control oil seepage.Once the fit is lost its pretty much an expensive thing to fix. Welding up a crack will also disturb the fit and require the bores to be honed and the spools to be built-up using a hard chrome procedure..Buy the replacement Prince valve and hook up the spool with the float function to the main rams this allows the bucket to float when you are trying to level something. I looked in my Graingers catalog and the same valve losts for 207.00 so Northern is cheaper..... .Big Mike

A replacement is great news. This is a working tractor.

As you look at the picture, the top two hoses go to the bucket for power "up" and "down" motion. The center hose is the inlet from the pump. The bottom hose goes to the "arms" that raise and lower the bucket.

Would the prince pump valvein this application?

Are you wanting to keep it original?? If not just replace it with another brand. Northern Hydraulics is a sorce in Minnesota (see link) or search out others on the web.
