ok, got fire, it starts sort of, rechecked all ignition plugs, replaced wires and plugs, rechecked static timing, points, condensor, coil all good. But when it starts it seems starved of gas, I have to hold the choke to start and hold it to stay running. The carb, I took it apart, cleaned and set float, reinstalled and it still seems that there is veryn little gas getting cylinders. Also the carb gets full of fulland it even runs out the bowl. Rebuild it or replace it? What else can I check to get it to run better before I spend carb money?

Sounds like your on the right track, you might have to rebuild the carb but I'd check for vacuume leaks first.

Ren, there's a brass screen filter in the top of the settlement bulb and one on the end of the elbow at the carb. Where the gas line hooks up. Check these screens, but it sounds like the needle and seat are sticking to. I'd reclean it and put a kit in it. Goodluck John
