Stopped by the mechanic's yesterday am and paid him for rebuild. I could walk then, the pain meds hadn't worn off from hernia repair 3 hours earlier. I got off light on cost, 4500 for about 1 hour of surgery.Rebuild was 1150. I'm learning more about 8ns, a lot more about this doctor stuff. Best place to get insurance I've found is farm bureau. What I'd like to know is where do you get Tennessee Farm Bulliten, is that the state ag dept. around the country or what. Next step for engine is paint, the friend doing it is a body man by trade and does excellent work. Just took something for the pain, its not working yet, last night I collected eggs, the chickens run free. that was a minor hassle, it hurt to walk. This morning I made coffee, my wife had gone for egg delivery, and I sat down just in time to not throw up or pass out. Lapyrscopic surgery is less painful, most say, its about $5000 more. Thats painful. Only reason I'm typing this is the girls got a laptop that fits on the recliner. Funny thing last major act I did before I had a new lump in my belly was set the engine, with one other scrawny helper, in the back of the truck. It was not a low gravity day. Prentice

Prentice, I go to get mine done on Sept 9th. They say it's better than it used to be. I remember when my dad had his done about 20 years ago - nearly crippled him for about a week. Made farming tough.

Prentice. I feel for you and I bet a whole lot of others on this Net had the same operation. I had mine done at Mayo Clinic several years back. I was on my feet quick just like you and payed a small penalty for doing so. It swelled up quite large. Mayo advised to take a small bag of ice and hang it inside of the pants so it hung over the surgery area and it did the trick. Good Luck. Ron
