My 8n's lift was working fine then quit. It will not lift the brushog or anything even an inch off the ground. Please give me a clue where to start so I won't have to replace good working parts.

First, make sure the position control lever under the seat is in the vertical position, "touch control not draft control". Others with more technical experience can help with the rest.

Hi Rick. There are some experts on this board when it comes to the lift systems on the N’s but here is a possibility. About 15 years ago my lift quit working. I removed the hydraulic pump and took it to the local Ford (back then, NH now) tractor dealership. The mechanic looked at the pump and said it had some ware on it but it was pumping some residual fluid out of the supply hole. He told me to clean out the housing real good and re-install the pump and put new oil in it and try it. There was about two inches of sludge and gum in the bottom of the pump housing. I cleaned out the sludge and put new hydraulic oil in. It has been working ever since. I figure the control valve was stuck. Just one possibility. HTH Rink Ga.
