Hello ya'll,
I've been looking through the forum and from what I read think I have a governer problem and I know I have to replace the clutch. My question is, what does it take to replace the rear main seal, will I be able to do it when I replace the clutch without pulling the oil pan?

Rear main seal is in 2 rope seal parts: one fits into groove in oil pan and the other fits into a groove in the block.

To replace the lower half, the pan has to be dropped.

To replace the upper half, the crank probably needs to be dropped. With a lot of luck, you may be able to replace the upper half with a "chinese finger-like" tool and pull the rope seal through. I have heard of people doing this, but I think it would be hard to do and keep it from leaking.

My $.02 worth,
Danny
