As much as I like the N Iwould trade if I could get a decent deal. Ain't nothing like live lift.

Zanes Live Thang will give you live lift. Cheaper than getting a difrent tractor.

There were two versions of the 2000 series. The earlier version (early 1960's) was a 4-cylinder model which was an upgrade of the 600 series from the 1950's. The newer version is a 3-cylinder which was produced from 1965 - 1974. The newer series gives you more options and is a totally different tractor from the earlier version. Things to look for in the newer editions would include the transmission options: (1) 4 and 6 speed models were similar to the 8N in that they did not have live PTO so you still need the ORC, but they all had live hydraulics, (2) the 8-speed model has a 2-stage clutch which gives you live PTO along with the live hydraulics, and (3) SOS had 10 speeds (this transmission usually does not command as much money because it is expensive and difficult to fix - see Ford forum archives).

Both 2000 series were good, dependable tractors with some/all of the upgrades we would like to have for our N's. Hope this helps.
