I have had these Blue Point sockets for a year. They are great! They are used on the head of a bolt or nut that has been rounded ( no more hex ). I was at a freinds house when he rounded a nut. He rounded it using a 6 point Snap On socket! I thought oh no, but he laughed and said watch this. It came right off. He did not even have to tap it onto the nut. I then had to get a set. Now everyone in my shop comes to me to borrow them. Sorry for the OT. but i thought you should know about them.

Find a local dealer. I spent $130 for all. that includes 3/8 set and 1/2 set. Since i make my living with tools i need to have tools that really work.

Thanks Patrick for posting about those sockets I find them very interesting, and I will have to get me some of those.

If you find your local Snap On dealer you will get a better deal. Tell him you got cash and do not want any paper work. They always give big discounts.

Yea. I wanted to post a link to the 3/8 and the bigger 1/2 drive, but could not get it to work. These really do work. I know that they look like something you would see on the home shopping net work.

Colin: Thank you for sharing. I thought for sure you were going to say "Metrinch". I've used "Metrinch" and they're neat, but the set you have would be much better quality. I had no idea other folks were making this type of product. Thanks again.

Gordo

I've seen that concept before. The socket works against the flat surfaces of the nut so the rounded off corners don't matter.

I've never heard of Blue Point before. Is that a brand name? Where did you buy them?

Snap On tools sells Blue Point. If you have a good Snap On man he will replace them if you ever break one. 3/8 - 10MM. through 3/4 - 19MM. Are part # 213TFSYA . The bigger ones 13/16 through 1 inch are part # 305TTWY . You can find your local Snap On dealer or go to www.snapon.com
