The 9N and 2N boxes were different in the way they were mounted to the tractor;

Both were mounted in the same place, the 9N box using a bracket and the 2N box w/o the bracket.

And of course the 8N box has the chamfer at the rear of the box;

Since yours is apparently missing, maybe someone mounted something else in the tool box location.

Open your hood (where you put gas in) and you will see the battery straight down. Behind and above the battery is an angled support of the dash. Look closely at Tyman's photo of the 8N toolbox and you will see it has an angle to the back side. This angled side of the toolbox goes up against the angled support of the dash.

Not a thousand words but you probably would have learned more from a photo. grin
