I like my ZANE THANG so much, that the only thing I would trade it for is to have Zane be my personal mechanic, or at least a mentor as I really enjoy working on old tractors or machinery.

Just kiddin', but I'd sure like to see it some day. Zane, How is the process coming getting a copyright. I dont need one but the way people talk about it, it must be a wonderous Thang. Best of luck to you Zane and Hats off for sure a great invention.

As Dolly Parton says, "You'r almost giving me a heart attack!"

I do have the data copyrighted and a utility patent applied for but I know that almost any mechanically inclined person could and would copy it if a picture ever gets published of The ZANE THANG. :>)

Zane, I've seen a pic of your Zane Thang, A friend of mine sent it to me, (don't worry, no other eyes will see it)I have a 8n so I don't need one, just wanted to see this great invention!! What I do know is, if I did need one I could copy your design "BUT" I would'nt, last I knew the asking price was 80 bucks?, I'd rather spend the 80 bucks than try to fart around for 2-3 days makeing one, and I think most people would feel the same way !

And for any of you girl scouts that are thinking of E-mailing me for a pic , well, you'd have a better chance of seeing God than getting a pic from me (-: besides, I've long since deleted it !

later dave (no belch tonight)

If memory serves me correct, a patent will only protect you if the product is copied for sale. Anyone can copy for personal use.

Unfortunatly I think you'll find that even if its patent protected it will get copied & odds are it wont be finacally feasable to fight

hehe I bet you gave Zane a start with that title! I have always been careful when photographing the tractor not to get the Zane Thang in the shot. I don't want to be responsible for someone copying his GREAT invention. My hat is off to you Zane! And for those not in the know, the Zane Thang gives you position control of the 3-point lift on the 9N/2N. You can stop the lift at any point you wish not just all the way up or all the way down as it is stock. A must have for any 9N/2N owner! I hope you mind my helping out, Zane.

It makes me wish I had a 2 or 9 N just so I could buy a Zane Thang. Besides, it would look nice alongside my 8n. (I do have Zanes adjusting jig for my 8n. It works great!)

One great advantage the Zane Thang gives you is the ability keep the plow weight on your back wheels when using a rear mounted plow. I used to let my plow drag around on it's shoes, whhich of course means I had unloaded the weight of the plow. I still do that sometimes, but if I start to get stuck, I just lift the blade an inch or two, and away I go.

Take Care
Steve
