I suspect someone on this board has a worm. Other than BG and me. Thanks dell for the free virus check. the vesion of antivirus I have did not detect it. Thanks BG for the warning. The worm did nothing to my system. Only 1 person on this board has e-mailed me recently. Not going to say who because it is posible the worm came from another place alltogether. Thanks again Bg and Dell.

I know there are people on this board with computer viruses.Kleez mostly ,grisoft offers a free av. It's easy to install & use, cleans viruses from files & alerts you of contaminated E-mail.I know there must be other free av protection. As long as It's free theres no excuse not to run it.

Just finished rerunning the virus check. All clear here now. It was in 2 of my download files but did nothing to my computer. Don't really know how these things work but I am glad It was caught before it got in any other files. It is ashame some smart person has nothing better to do.

If you are using the on line virus scanning, remember that you are only doing half the job a good AV program will do. There are 2 types of AV scanning: on-access and on-demand. On line scanning provides on-demand with no heuristic capability at all. While on-access and on-demand scanners may have some similarities, including some of the same programming code, the on-access scanner must do more that just examine files: it shoulders most of the active anti-virus burden for the user. The on-access scanner places itself between programs and the operating system. It examines programs as they interact with files, memory areas and network functions. It has to examine a suspicious program's behavior and halt malevolent software before the software executes. Viruses, trojan horses, and other malevolent Web applications are all part of the on-access scanner's patrol. Part of the challenge of an effective on-access scanner is that it must be diligent and capable of scanning each accessed file while not interfering with the functionality of the machine. So an on-line scan really only does half the job.
