I HAVE AN OLD FORD 2 BOTTOM 14" PLOW THAT HAS SET AROUND FOR AT LEAST 30 YEARS WITH NO PROTECTIVE LUBRICANT AND NO USE. THE MOLDBOARDS HAVE LIGHT TO MEDIUM RUST. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE THEM SHINEY AGAIN? 1) GRINDER WITH WIRE WHEEL. 2) ROTARTY AIR WITH SANDING PAD. 3) SAND BLAST. 4) OTHER SUGGESTIONS. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. PHILIP.

Been doin it the same forever, put it on the tractor, put em in the ground, if the dirt sticks after 15 minutes, take a rock and scrape em off put em back in the ground and go for it!!! It won't be long before they are shine as new, nothing is more abrasive than dirt on a plow share, except dirt on a mole board

I don't think the dirt will mind the rust! I agree with all below, pull it in the dirt.

What the other people said is the easiest & quickest way to score a plow, however if you want to put out the energy we use to take a red chimeny brick & rub the h--- out of the boards if they were really bad. But for myself I'd let the dirt do the work.

Put 'em in the dirt. Let the dirt do the cleaning for ya.

Smear the surface with grease before the next storage - then put 'em in the dirt again.

I'd put it on the tractor and start plowing. Mine had sat for several years and was pretty rusty when I got it. But I figured what the heck and just started using it. It took hardly any time at all before it was beautifully clean and shiney
again. My furrows didn't look very good but that was more because I hadn't ever plowed before than the rusty plow.
