I bought a new seed/fertilizer spreader for my old 8N, new but no paperwork.
For the settings it has 2 levers, one on top and one below the adjustment scale. How does that work? set them both to the required number, or add the sum, like 5 for the top, and 7 for the bottom, will equal 12. The scale goes to 24. Also has a longer lever for on and off. Anyone have one of these, it's orange and made in denmark. Any suggestions on the care, oiling etc?

I don't know which spreader you have Ron, but any of the ones I have used allow for MANY settings. Usually when there are two levers they will work like a tranny with a HI-LO range. In other words you could set it for 1-1, 1-2, 1-3.....1-24. Then you could go to 2-1, 2-2, 2-3....2-24, and so on. Don't quote me on that, but that's what I have normally seen.

I've been in the fertilizer business for about 15 years. The key to maintaining ANYTHING that's used with fertilizer is keep it cleaned up and as dry as possible. That goes from big Rogator floaters right down to crescent wrenches.
