Any good mechanic will tell you to bring things back to standard tolerances where possible, and don't risk chances. Your concerns are well founded. Grind it, and get it back to standard tolerances. For low rpm engines, there are oversize bearings available all the way up to .060" as I recall, which work out OK. Your engine will last longer if the job is done right. My $.02

I like Dell are not a mind reader so here goes...Ifin its a stock crank and only needs a .010 undergrind to make things perfect I would go that route...IFFIN its allready .030 under I would consider polishing it and runnin it

I would consult a good machine shop. I hate to put new bearings on worn journals, however slight the wear. Plastigage is the presiding judge.
