I had the same problem, thought it was overheating. It had to much fluid in the radiator, if you look close at the neck of the radiator it has a small male fitting that needs a hose to direct the expanded fluid to the ground and not onto ( Not so hot ) engine.

Your radiator may be new but think about the water jackets in the engine being pluged after 50 yrs. of maybe hard water. Back flush the block if other posts do not work. You will be supprised at what comes out.

A bad head gasket can force water out. Then the tractor will overheat. Fill it with water and run it with the cap off. Look for gases exiting the radiator.

Make sure your thermostat in not installed backwards. If in doubt, remove it for a test.

Got one without a shroud. No problem. Will get around to installing one, maybe.

Just put a new headgasket on it head isnt warped and I did retoque it. Went to my mom's to pick up the 9N rad to put on it guess someone stole it because it is gone. I did find a fan shroud that I think will fit the new rad on this tractor doesnt look as heavy as the one that came off of the 9N so I may have to get another one.
