Freinds ! Help. My 52 8N runs smooth from idle to high RPMs until under some load. ie going uphill it begins to pop through the air cleaner. My air cleaner pipe sticks up through the sheet metal and I can feel puffs of air with each pop. These are not loud pops like backfiring (though they may be), but the lose of power is significant. I have changed: plug wires, points, condenser and coil to no avial. Have not messed with timing yet.
What do you think??

Ray..... ....pooffing back thru the carb implies to me, sticky intake valve or broken valve spring.

Take a compression check, dry, 5 cranks min, then wet, 5 cranks..... ..... .Dell
