Hi All. I attended the Inman, Ga. Farm Heritage Day’s antique tractor show yesterday with my wife and my mother. I estimate there were probably six or seven N’s and a few Jubilee’s and NAA’s . There was a nice Ford 801 diesel also. Like Tim said about the Michigan Show, there were a lot of JD’s and Farm All’s along with yellow and orange. I observed the old Hit & Miss engines a little closer than last year and figured out what makes them fire. When the flywheel slows down to a certain rpm, it seems to trip a mechanism that causes the magneto or coil to fire. At least that is what it looks like. Anyway, we really enjoyed looking at all of the old farm tractors. There was a restored 52 8N that absolutely immaculate. It was also for sale. The owner had a note on it that said $4200.00. If I had $4200 to spare, I would have bought that 8N. It was a very nice restoration. Rick H. Ga.

I was there on Saturday. Seems like they had a lot more tractors than last year. Did you see the baling demonstration? That was amazing. Just about everything was manual. I can see why farmers didn't have a weight problem in the past. I met a gentleman who had grown up working on that farm and he told me that he would work on the saw mill for 10 hours a day and that they made all the lumber for the farm and others too. Shame the cotton gin was not working while I was there. My wife decided that if I had to buy another tractor, couldn't it be one of those cute IH cub loboys or a JD L? Hey, I liked them too. I noticed on guy said he had a 54 601. I thought they came out in 55? All in all, well worth the ride.
