Below zero and windy...if it will start...

When the thermometer reads zero and below, any tractor that will start passes the "in near perfect tune" test. Glad I don't have to start an 8N and haul bales to 50 cows and several hundred steers, as I did on many winter days as a teenager in Missouri. On second thought, the better clothes of today would about make up for my thinner blood! In those days there was a bit of a now-I'm-man thrill to doing the hard jobs, but we were mighty glad when we could "go to the house!" Mike-Iowa

I'm just outside of Washington, MO. A year ago we moved to the country after living in St. Louis.
As I have been writing, the temp. dropped another 5 degrees. This morning we had rain showers, sleet, and snow, all within a hour. The 2n is tuned up ready to go, resting in the barn. I am very confident she will start tomorrow. Where in Missouri did you spend the fun times?

Mike It's nice to know the we don't have to do it but on the other hand it's nice to know that if we had to we could bundle up and go get the job done with the help of that wonderful machine ol' Henry gave us.

My '49 turned over immediately this morning and it was -2 outside with -35 wind chill. The old gal did good! Quarter mile lane was plowed open in short order.
