go figure,i am having difficulty finding the correct measurement to order my bearings .i had my crank turned 20 under on the mains and rod journals.can i just order the bearings from the undersizing of being ground or should i still plastigauge using the old bearings and figure that .

Hi Russ. I believe you really needed to know if the crank had ever been turned before. For example, if your crank had previously been turned .010 and you had it turned another .020 then you would need .030 undersized bearings. HTH. Rick H. Ga.

If machine shop made no mistakes a crank .020 under will measure .020 less than the MFG Specs. Not .020 less than the size it came to the shop!

Buy the bearings for the size that the crank was turned to then plastiguage the new bearings to the crank when you put it together just to be sure everything is as it should be. If the crank was turned properly and it probably was the clearances should be perfect. Just doesn't hurt to double check things . LOL&have fun REM.Mo

Russ, Order .20 under bearings and then plastiguage when installing them to insure proper clearence. Nice tripple post post post. GRIN
