I was looking at buying a TSC Boom Pole and I would like to know if anyone has one and what they think of it's quality.

Thanks.

I've got one, and it has worked fine for me. I've lifted 500+ punds of heavy chain drag harrow off my trailer with it many times ( using my 1920.. not my 8n though ), and toted a few other impliments like box blades etc.

Just watch out for a light front end.

You could of course build a beefier one, but this simple model will solve most of your lifting problems, and for little $$. Just used mine yesterday to lift a 500+ lb. blade from a low boy trailer. Also, from the middle of the pole I can raise the wheels on my tandem axle horse trailer which, as best I can figure, comes to a resistance at the tongue of something like 700-800 lbs. (if I use the end of the pole for this little experiment, the front of my 8N gets airborne). The pole has never tweaked, moaned or groaned. For about $70, I figure my fabricating time is better spent elsewhere.

Not affiliated with TSC (although I wish I'd bought their stock a year or two ago!).

The one I got at TSC was made by king kutter.

It is rated at 500 pounds, but recently I used it to lift a king kutter rotary mower out of a trailer. The mower weighs in at 550 pounds, according to their website.

1946 2N and king kutter boom pole did well.

Just remember, when using the boom pole, it is a good idea to have position control.

Ya watch those heavy things on the way down! Sometimes it will drop real fast when you least expect it. Don't ask me why but I have a block around here somewhere that reminds me why I like posision control now! I got 71.00 into my home made boom but it also has a winch on it. I use mine all the time around here!! Mark H.
