Was on the news this morning that a guy was helping a friend dig post holes for a pole building & his 1year old son got run over by both tires, front & back. Crushed his head. These things are very danderous. PLEASE play safe & keep kids away when running a tractor. Might upset the kid but I'd rather have him upset than not have him anymore.

Saw a vintage tractor in the ditch near Fergus Ontario on the weekend ( Farmall or a AC I think) Hope the drivers alright, I haven't heard anything in the local news. Made me happy my land is relatively flat! The grandkids like my tractor but it's not a toy. I'll let em climb on my Husqavarna lawn tractor but that's about it and only while I'm there. StuK

Probably one of the worst things I've ever seen and even today I get a sick feeling in my gut when I think about it.

When I was 8 I watched my dad back a 165hp tractor over my 5 year old brother. YEESH. He got away with a few scrathces and a broken leg. Dad was being safe, but my brother was being "5" and ran out behind the tractor. That experience serves me well now that I have kids of my own.

I agree whole heartedly. When I think back about the good "old day's" with Gramp's, All the tractors had bad brakes. And saftey was never an issue. Except keep away from that P.T.O. shaft. I used to love to ride on top of the hay wagon's back to the barn, sometimes up to 9 or 10 tier's high. Had to duck from the power lines. (a shifting load would have been sure tragedy) LOL It's lucky I'm alive today!

I know a fellow who backed a riding mower over his young daughter and cut off her heel. He didn't know she'd run up behind him to tell him something when he was mowing. Neither one have ever been the same.

Amen . It makes me want to stop and take action
every time I see a so called adult mowing the
yard with a small child riding along or even
chasing the machine . If they only knew the details of accidental death and and permenant
scaring just in my small community I don't see how they could do that to their children. I use the term "accidental" above to be kind . I feel it is really neglect.
