"what is the thickness of a new head" I would call don b at Just 8N's.
or, your local New Holland dealer.

I don't know if I am more or less thick headed than the other posters.

One person was on that had the head and block machined then the pistons were hitting the head.
First I would have the head checked to see if it is warped before having it machined. Your question is good because you never know if it was machined before and how much was taken off.
Sorry to say I do not know the original dimentions. Someone will get back to you about it.

He was just too thick-headed to mention that.

(sorry, bad joke, no offense intended)

Hey David Coe in Md,
I was thinking along the same lines too when I saw this thread. So if you were too thick headed (or skulled) to help the man well, so was I.
