So I figured out what my tractor was. I got it with a 12 volt battery in it and hooked up neg ground. I put in a 6 volt battery pos ground and she started right up. I flashed the generator and now that appears to work. I do need a new voltage regulator though. I guess it couldn't be expected to make it through being hooked up neg ground. New clutch works great, now on to the hydrolics. Thanks for the help guys.

If your ammeter is showing a good charge and your tractor's running fine, don't change anything. If you don't have a spare set of points, condensor, and coil, you might want to get some as your 12v battery could have caused them some damage and they may fail soon. Doubt it hurt your regulator.

She's not charging at all. I'm pretty confident it's the voltage regulator. Not only was it 12 volts but reversed also. I do have a set of points and cond ready to go in. I think I'll order up a regulator.

You might want to get a new coil too. 12 volts to it with out proper resistence couldn't have been good for it. Might be short lived.

N - joy.

Richard, Make sure that you polarize "BEFORE" starting the tractor... If you don't the Reg
relay contacts will BURN and.. yes! it will self polarize but weld/destroy the contacts..
