Went to start the old 9 this weekend, and got a good spin run a couple of minutes then died.
Checked for fire, quick look at the points (mine has a converted mag) all looked fine tried again, starts and runs about a minute then dies. Remembering all the info here I says "Self, you need to go to the house for a jumper wire for the ignition switch" but then I thought nah, I know it is ok, so I pulled the plug on the bottom of the carb, and got danged little!
Opened the fuel vale wide open and got flow.
Stated right up. Went to the house and added gas.
Moral of the story, when a son uses the tractor, he may leave the tank empty.
Hey he is 35 now, and I had forgotten how often he left the car and truck empty when he was a teenager :-)

I know. My son is 24, and still has trouble remembering to put gas in MY outfits when he uses them. Funny he doesn't forget in his own outfit. Hmmmmm . I NEVER did that to my dad..... ....did I???
