I am replacing an original rear rim with a new one-the original has cancer and I plan to repair later. But the new rim is 11 inches wide instead of my original rims which are 10. Should the rims be 10 or 11 inches? The tires call for 10. Can I use the 11? clueless.

One inch difference in rim width is not going to make a "hill of beans" difference to that 8N. The N was made to run one wheel in a furrow, one wheel slipping, one wheel running faster than the other. If you buy two tractor tires chances are they will not be the same overall diameter. You would get more size differences between a slightly worn tire and a new one. The overall difference will not be noticed. m3c ray

You shouldn't use different width rims because it changes the diameter of the tires by some small amount. That is not good for your differential. Most catalogs show only 10- and 12-inch-wide replacement rims. Are you sure your new rim is 11-inches wide? I'd check with your supplier. Or if you bought it at auction, maybe you should just go ahead and repair the old 10 incher. Welding shop can do it and they are not too busy at this time of year. Running on the too-wide rim while you repair the old one probably won't do much damage, a lot of these old tractors ran on one good and one worn tire for awhile. Merry Christmas Photofarmer.
