I get a lot of info off this board so I'm gonna try to pick the brains of some of the riders out there. I was talking to a friend today & he asked if Cushman made a street bike. I was thinking I saw a pic once along time back of one. Seeing as how I don't ride anymore I'm out of touch with that life style. Just curious. Not looking to buy one. If I get lucky enough I'd buy another HD. More into tractors these days.

Lotsa info on old Cushman "Scooters" at dennis-carpenter.com. Look at the Chushman link, he's got a real nice I.D. page. This is the same company that sells reproduction parts for Ford pickups, Mustangs, cars, and, oh yes, N-Series tractors.

Rusty The answer is yes. I have run accross a group of riders and they all had Cushmans With V- twins I don't know if the engines were original but they sounded like harleys and they went like a bat out of heck. Was kind of funny to hear what you thought was a big bike coming up behind you and then seeing this little motorcycle fly by you.
Octobers easyrider mag has a restored one with a Vanguard V-twin mounted on it and looks pretty cool.

Street Bike, I dont know , Had a new 58 Cushman Eagle, 4.8 brk. hp 55 mph top speed, 2 speed transmission ( you had to double clutch it when you shifted ) I was 14 at the time, it had a 1 to 1 gear ratio in high gear, I used to blow the doors off other motor scooters once it got wound up ( Vespas , Lambretas , Alstates, ) It would out run a Mo ped while still in low gear,Dad saw me racing down the road one day, slapped me silly so that ended my racing carrear.
