Is it O.K. to "fog", spray engine storage oil down the intake of a diesel engine the same way you would do a gasoline engine? Is there a better way to store the engine for the winter? It will be left outdoors all winter. Thanks in advance, Doug.

I put my Johnson Outboard 25 fishing motor away for the winter yesterday. I sprayed marine foging oil in it while cranking it over. The darned thing started and ran on it. I had drained the carb. I had to disable the ignition by pulling the safety clip to keep it from running.

fogging oil down a diesel could make it start is it is flamable.
