Is there any decent alternative to taking a tire to a shop to vulcanize gashes in the sidewall caused by leaning T-posts while using the bush hog? Silicone, shoo goo, jb weld, bubble gum, tire paint or dressing, my wife's cooking??

There are pretty much 2 types of tire damage... Cosmetic and re-tire-ment.

You would be surprised how deep a gash can be and still be cosmetic. My 8N has seperations down to the first ford layer. Mu other tractor has lost whole lugs.

Both have inner tubes.

Some cosmetic repairs can be made via tire ( rubber ) cement and a piece of old tube. Again.. this is cosmetic.

Puncture wounds and other minor problems can also be fixed with a boot / innertube combination, that way the damage in the tire casing doesn't pinch or abraid the tube.

Heck... the front tires on my 8n don't even seat in the bead perfectly...
