Do Original VW Bug Wheels Fit 9N/2N Fronts?

While walking past an old bug without hub caps, it occurred to me that the bolt pattern closely resembles that of the early N's. Has anyone ever tried to measure them for this?

My 2N had hubs and wheels from a '37 Ford automobile complete with brake drums ! I tried a set of original 2N wheels but they would not fit on the hubs . Also tried VW wheels and they would not fit MY hubs but I think I saw a set on a 2N in a book .

AS mentioned below, the late 30's wheels will fit. The Bug wheels resemble the od Ford wheels, but I don't know the bolt-pattern spacing. There's lots of old farm trailers around here made from old Ford axles that have that type wheel mounted.

No they don't, but it seems to me some time ago
I saw where some one had changed the whole hub with the bearings. Check the archives.

I have had the same idea about the VW wheel pattern maybe being the same as the 9N/2N. I can't tell you if it is or isn't.

I can tell you though that Henry used the same bolt pattern on the 38 Ford cars and trucks as the 9N/2N Tractors.

Henry used the same bolt pattern on the 36, 37, 38, and 39 Ford vehicles.
