Ive had this high speed lean out condition totally rebuilt engine any how I had the manifold planed it was excessively warped but no vacume leak planed it anyway replaced head gasket no warpage on head ,on every bolt used a paste sealer for engine head bolts started and ran good last weekend .still good no high speed lean out condition something I did repaired the problem nothing obvious ??? this may help others RSP

On the metalurgical end of this, once the head is warped, it will warp again. When cast iron warps, it is because of internal stresses during the casting process, the heat and cooling cycles will cause the warping to occur, and reoccur. Same is true with brake rotors, if they warp, you can have them turned, but in a few months they will warp again (turning the grooves out is a different thing). I would suggest a new manifold is in order assuming your problem is still a vacum leak. This info is assuming that college has actually taught me something and i am not just wasting my money :) If it is a waste, someone will tell you (and me) different.

Sounds too familiar. I am still running a little lean under heavy load...all signs (and the experts) point toward a vacuum leak. Gotta check and see if the manifold is warped....and replace the head gasket.
