I have a Jubilee with a piston type pump and after removing the pump for some wire brushing of the block I put the Pump back on....I read the manual and it said that you should put some oil in the pump and rotate before reinstalling it ....quite messy as the ports are on the bottom of the pump..... There were no repairs done to the Pump ....and it worked fine before I removed it...I started the tractor and tried to raise the drawbar and got nothing ...in draft or position mode...I removed the hex plug and did not see any oil there ...I assume that it needs to be primed but I am not sure how...Will running it at high rpm for a longer period of time due or is there a trick to make this a little easier...Any opinions appreciated...Thanks...Alan

Remove the front plug from the pump. Place a container under the pump on the floor. start the tractor at low idle and allow the engine to run until there is no air bubbles present in the escaping oil.

Stop the engine and replace the plug.

The pump is bled this way and this way only.

You can blow air into the dipstick hole to force oil thru the pump. 20-30 psi should force oil thru pump and not blow out any gaskets.

If I remember right, the hex plug can be loosened to act as an air bleed when priming. I had trouble with mine taking a long time for the lift to operate and fixed it with a kit to put new O-Rings in. It was sucking air into the pump past the suction O-ring instead of pulling oil up from the reservoir.
