I was talking to a guy from the live-chat last night on msn and he started talking about taking data from the tractor (ie speed, engine this, engine that...etc). And i got thinking about doing that for the ford and writing down all the data abou the tractor. How would or should i go about doing this??

8NGuy: Despite the NOISE LEVEL in response to your question, I'm curious too. I've considered doing something of that nature with my motorcycle after seeing so many claims of this oil brand vs. that, carb adjustments, and the like. I think you could get some useful data by monitoring exhaust temp, cyl head temp, CO, engine speed, manifold pressure, and fuel consumption while operating. It wouldn't be too difficult, but I think it depends on how bad you want the data as I think the only way to do it practically would be to employ a portable computer with data logging interface and appropriate transducers. It might put to rest a lot of "conventional wisdom".
