The man wanted $1200 for the tractor. Several things where missing from the tractor. No carb, back tires, generator, coil, wires, battery, muffler, and the manifold is broke. The sheet metal has heavy rust. Also the engine is stuck. Offered him $500 and I would haul it off. But he only droped the price to $1000. Will try again in a few weeks. Don't see the tractor selling at that price.

With what you describe you are at least fifteen hundred dollars and probably more in parts away from a working tractor. That is assuming that the stuck engine will free up without rings and sleeves. If your time is worth anything add in a hundred hours.

Unless working n's go for over four grand in your neck of the woods I would leave him your phone number and tell him when $500. looks good to him to give you a call.

YOur mileage may vary

You should have started with "For $500. I will haul this junk away for you".

Sounds like scrapmetal to me! What is he selling, besides a serial number? (I'll bet all the other parts are shot, too!)
